Our mission is to help save lives. We make plasma medicines that treat people with chronic, rare and sometimes very serious diseases. If you know someone who receives infusions of these medicines, there’s a chance they come from Grifols.

Our medicines are used in emergency situations as well as to treat bleeding disorders like hemophilia, a respiratory condition known as Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, primary immunodeficiency diseases and many other disorders. A plasma medicine is often the only treatment option for these patients.

Innovating for patients and society

Since our founding in 1909, we have applied our deep knowledge of plasma science, ethical leadership and top quality and safety standards for a healthier and more sustainable society.

We can only produce lifesaving medicines with your help. Plasma cannot be manufactured in a lab, so plasma medicines depend on people’s compassion and generosity. To help meet the growing need for plasma, Grifols has established the largest network of plasma donation centers in the U.S. and globally.

There are more than 400 plasma donation centers spanning the U.S., Canada, Europe and Egypt. Grifols’ industry-leading quality and safety standards, beginning at our donor centers and continuing throughout the manufacturing process, ensure patients receive the highest quality medicines.

Our rigorous standards are why healthcare professionals trust Grifols products and services across the U.S. and more than 110 other countries.  All of us at Grifols – we’re more than 23,000 strong – clock in at work every day singularly focused on helping millions of patients around the world lead healthier and more productive lives.

Since our founding in 1909, we have worked to advance plasma science. Our history includes breakthroughs such as the development of the plasmapheresis (pronounced PLAZ-mah fair-EE-sis) technique. This procedure revolutionized the safe and efficient collection of plasma. Today our milestone innovation is still the gold standard worldwide for obtaining plasma, the starting material needed for our medicines.

Commitment to the community

We help our donor communities thrive. Through our plasma donation centers as well as our J.A. Grifols Foundation, we support donors and their communities by creating job opportunities and stimulating local economies. We are also taking an active role in many social outreach programs, like:

Box Out Hunger

In partnership with Feeding America, we help fight hunger for the 38 million people in the U.S. who are food insecure by collaborating with local food banks to create drop-off locations at our donor centers.

Habitat for Humanity

Since 2014, we have been working with Habitat for Humanity to strengthen local communities and provide affordable housing for those who need it in the U.S.

Plasma Possibilities Program

Through this initiative donors have the opportunity to give a portion of their plasma donation reward/compensation to local charities in the same communities as our donor centers.

Expanding our presence

Today there are still countless patients who need plasma medicines to lead healthier and more productive lives. Plus so many more who have yet to be diagnosed and will need to be treated.  We’re doing what we can in the U.S. and around the world to make certain there’s enough plasma and plasma medicines. That means opening more donor centers and ensuring people just like you are aware just how important it is to have a steady, sustainable supply of plasma.

We appreciate your interest in becoming a Grifols Plasma donor.

We look forward to welcoming you into your nearest center.

Together, we help save lives.
